Our program is inspired by the fact that you, the parents or guardians of our students, are the primary educators of your children. Our goal is to provide families with resources and opportunities to experience faith beyond what is taught within the walls of the classroom. There is an old saying that “faith is caught, not taught” meaning that witness is the most important teacher of the faith. Children will learn from what their parents and teachers do more so than what is said. If you think back on your own religious education experience, chances are your positive memories were things that were done, hands on, rather than mote memory. This is still true of children today. In order to learn about faith, it must be experienced and that is what we try to do with the families of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, creating experiences for life long faith formation.
We do this by providing age appropriate retreats for everyone, Intergenerational Learning, monthly prayer, and family service opportunities. Our catechists are faith filled individuals who are dedicated to sharing their time and talent with your children. Our staff is ready to assist you in any way we can.
We hope that being a part of our program enhances your family’s faith journey!

All we can ever say is thank-you and that will never be enough to express our gratitude for each of the high quality individuals who call themselves Catechist. Signing on for such an endeavor can be a little intimidating, filled with question such as, “do I have the right information?”, “am I qualified?”, or “do I have the time?”. I can assure you, with the help of the Holy Spirit, the only answer to these questions is YES!

THANK YOU PARENTS!
Religious education can be a daunting task, but one the family is called to. For this reason, the family is seen as the “Domestic Church” and as such, represents the whole Church. The world sees the larger Catholic Church through the actions of the family. When you had your children Baptized, you were proclaimed to be the first and most important teachers to your children.
Sounds intimidating? Not to worry, we are here to help you! Through our many retreats and adult learning opportunities, you can refresh your own faith. When you are ready, we have many resources to share with you so that you may impart your faith without fear or hesitation.
We thank-you for your commitment to empowering your children and family with the truth. By practicing and sharing your faith, your children will grow to understand the love God has for each and every one of us!
